Futura Simulations fly high
In February, Powersim’s manpower simulation solutions partner, Futura Simulations, sponsored the Military Flying Training 2007 conference in London. Leading military forces and training providers use Futura Simulations to trial complex training systems, manpower strategies and capability-migration programmes in the safety of a desktop simulation. Futura Simulations has accepted an invitation to speak at this year’s ITEC conference in Köln, Germany on the topic of Trained Output Assurance: optimising training-pipeline performance through visual simulations. Powersim led managers enrolled in the UCL ‘Interdisciplinary Management of Projects’ MSc course in London as part of the ‘Corporate Governance’ module. In this exciting new engagement Powersim challenged participants to consider ways to capture concensus among a variety of stakeholders when planning and managing large, complex projects. Existing project management practices tackle the planning of projects without necessarily engaging all stakeholders in both client and contracting parties, in order to best manage cross-disciplinary expectations. By modelling and simulating aspects outside of the current project management spectrum the intertwined and complex intangibles can be drawn out and discussed to ensure cross-disciplinary concensus in decision-making. Powersim launches its UK website
Powersim launched their new website on 02 October 2006. The site, commissioned by the Powersim team in the UK, aims to help meet the needs of their solutions, software and service clients into the future. The website includes demonstration videos, case studies and service outlines, as well as links to their sister site in Norway for download of the industry-leading simulation software, Powersim Studio. Service Release
Powersim Studio 2005 Service Release 6 released with the following functionality enhancements:
Introduction of a new property to control the automatic scale of value axes in the Time Graph and Chart controls.
Introduction of error reporting for the VBScript function (VBFUNCTION). The problematic code is now selected in the definition text, and a detailed problem descrition is displayed.
The new Visit command on the Bookmark symbol makes it easier to test how hyperlinks to the bookmark will act.

Unisys
Powersim to work with the UK Army and Unisys to develop the technical demonstrator for the Army's Project Euclid after Unisys win the tender. Powersim's role will be to provide expert simulation and modelling expertise based on their experience from working on human capital projects in the armed forces.
